believes the Dance will recede into ancient history-especially after
viewers see her flagrante delicto during some kinky-funny sex scenes
she cannot yet reveal. 'Let me just say that after some of those scenes,
no one will remember the Dana Dance,' she says. 'They'll say, Dana
Dance what? All I remember is that I sawthe hmm-hmm-hmm...'"
Girlfriends magazine visits the set of Season 2 of The
L Word - nice banter from Erin. "Together, Erin and Leisha
are a one-two punch, finishing sentences for each other with a comic
twist."

USA Weekend - 3/27/04 - Erin Daniels is making a splash
with her first regular TV role. After guest spots on shows like "Boomtown"
and "Law & Order," and small parts in movies, the St.
Louis-born actress stars in Showtime's edgy Sunday drama The L Word,
about six L.A. lesbians. "If you combined 'Sex and the City'
and 'Queer as Folk,' that's what it's like," says Daniels, 30,
who is straight but has played a lesbian before and doesn't worry
that the roles will hurt her career. Rather, she thinks a show like
"The L Word" could run on an NBC or CBS. "I like to
think the networks underestimate the public," says Daniels, who
also supports gay marriage. "But with everything going on in
politics right now, I could be wrong." Daniels says her grandma
"has to change the channel when I kiss a girl."

Q: How much of the character is in the writing and how much is your
spin on it?
"It was obvious to me from the beginning that Dana is defensive
in a very sarcastic way because she has something to hide. I think
it’s very honest when you see people’s flaws because everyone
has them. And for a woman who’s struggling so hard to fit in
and figure out who she is, who just wants so badly to be loved...I
decided to spin her that way, and in sort of a goofy way, because
I think most people are goofy…She tries so hard to be cool and
it just backfires, which (laughing) God knows I’ve done, so
many times. "

That doesn't happen to me a lot. But I knew then that we're doing

Q: Do you ever find it difficult getting into character or into particular
scenes?
"I see lots of myself in Dana, so finding her in me is not that
difficult. It's when Dana is going through something particularly
rough, something that I identify with, that it's difficult. It forces
me to confront my own issues and that can be tough sometimes. "

Describing the cast interaction while filming the series :
"We all were working with the same realtor," Erin recalls.
"Liesha and Mia shared the same apartment. They were roommates.
I lived next door and Kate lived a couple of blocks away. It was like
camp. There was a lot of walking back and forth to each other's houses
at night in our pajamas."
